Camperdown Community Garden – a place to connect, grow and learn
Do you want to be part of a community gardening project?
If you would like to grow your own vegetables, fruits, herbs or flowers, and want to get outdoors and interact with like-minded green thumbs, the Camperdown Community Garden may be for you.
Community gardens are a great way for residents without their own garden, or those who want to be part of a community gardening project, to get out and use their green thumbs.
We see the garden as a place where people can come together and share their experiences.
We are keen to see the garden develop as a place for families. The Camperdown Playspace is located right beside our garden and a offer a range of family days to encourage as many people as possible to come along and get involved.
Although there are some seasonal aspects to gardening, we hope we will be able to create something which will give produce year round.
We are all beginning to understand the need for home grown fruit and vegetables. There is also the potential to grow flowers, herbs, and other plants in the community garden also.
The Camperdown Community Garden site is currently being updated. A recent working bee was well attended and the Garden Beds have been prepared for Spring planting.
Things are happening, including:
- A greenhouse will be erected shortly.
- A 3 tier Composting system set up
- New garden signage.
- Spring planting
You can get involved by contacting the Camperdown Community House on 03 5593 1403 for more information about the Camperdown Community Garden.
