In partnership with Kim from Innerbloom Gardening Therapy and Camperdown’s own Angela Preiss , we have introduced an exciting series set in the stunning Camperdown Botanic Hardens; the Botanic Mindfulness sessions.
In this series, Kim leads a mindfulness and nature journaling exercise, whilst Angela conducts sound bowl meditation and provides reflective instrumentals to accompany the exercises.
There is an enormous amount of research that demonstrates the benefits of exposure to the natural world, as well as the benefits of just slowing down and taking time out from our busy lives. Nature journaling is taking a notebook and some simple art supplies out into nature and using words, pictures and numbers to describe what you notice, what you wonder about and what things remind you of. You don’t have to be a perfect artist to be able to do this. It’s just for you!
The sounds produced by sound bowls are thought to help focus the mind and deepen meditation. Singing bowls are also used in traditional healing practices, creating vibrations believed to restore balance and harmony within the body, mind, and spirit.
We designed two sessions for this initial series, the first we completed on Thursday 23rd January, the second is scheduled for Tuesday 11th February. You can still book to attend the second session.
BOOK HERE for 11th February (3-4.30pm). Alternatively, you can call us on 55931403 to book your spot.
We’ve had great feedback from those who attended the first session, and we are hoping to extend this series to create a more regular and recurring one. If you are interested in this, please CONTACT US and tell us the day/s and time/s that work best for you.
