Local History Seminar and Bus Tour: A great Weekend

Local History Seminar and Bus Tour: A great Weekend

The third installment of our local history seminar and bus tour series was held on the 12th and 13th November 2022. This series is in partnership with the Camperdown and District Historical Society.

Both the seminar, held on the 12th, and the bus tour, held on the 13th, we sold out!

We were so lucky to have Harpistry join us for a wonderful performance at the seminar, followed by a wonderful afternoon tea / refreshments from Camperdown Milk Bar. Our keynote speakers, Dr Peter Yule, Nick Cole and Stewart McArthur, were captivating, and we were very fortunate to be joined by Rosalie Triolo, Senior Lecturer from History Education Monash University and representative of RHSV.

The bus trip on Sunday 13th December had a few hick ups, but overall was a wonderful day of place-based learning and visiting important historical sites across our district.

A huge thank you to Bob Lambell and Marie Belyea for a tremendous effort across the weekend, and everyone who lent a hand.

We hope you can all join us for the fourth and final installment of this series in 2023.

We are in the process of developing a new series to follow on from this, so watch this space! Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date on what’s coming up, and check out our Facebook for regular updates and news!

Camperdown and District Community House and Historical Society acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land, and pay respects to Elders both past, present and emerging. We work and reside in Djargurdwurrung country.
