The South West Community Foundation has generously provided sponsorship for the Camperdown & District Food Bank emergency food relief service for the next three years. The Foundation has shown ongoing support of the service since awarding a $5,000.00 community grant in the 2017-2018 financial year. This funding allowed the Camperdown Community House, who administers the service, to work with the volunteer coordinators and local service providers to clarify and strengthen the service and develop better mechanisms to manage the ongoing sustainability of the service into the future. The Foundation has agreed to provide $1,000.00 each year for three years from 2018-2020. As the service does not receive recurrent funding, and relies solely on donations and grants, this sponsorship will alleviate a considerable amount of the financial burden in ensuring that the service will continue to be provided to those in need in our community.
