Workshops Schedule 2022

Welcome to workshops 2022! We’re excited about the range of events on offer, please help share & invite.

Please note that fees for workshop attendance will be introduced in July 2022 as our funding draws to a close. To ensure you don’t miss out on workshop opportunities, please sign up for our enewsletter and follow us on Facebook.

We will continue to offer a range of both remote-social-local and in-person events. For any of our in-person activities we have the following covid-safe practices in place:

  • Limited places and social distancing
  • Masks no longer mandatory, but free mask available at venue
  • We aim to offer two sessions of each workshop to keep numbers down at each session
  • Reducing workshop time to 2 hours, use of large venues
  • BYO refreshments, none served on the day
  • Please do not attend if unwell or have had recent close contact with someone who is unwell

‘JELLYFISH’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion.

There are many recognised links between the arts and mental health and well-being, and our workshop series with Delyce is about connection, community, creativity, learning something new, having some fun and celebrating where we live.

Camperdown and District Aboriginal History and Culture seminar and bus tour: SAT 5th & SUN 6th MARCH.

The Seminar will be held from 1.30 – 4.30pm on Saturday 5th March 2022 @ Theatre Royal.
The Bus Tour will be held from 10am – 2pm on Sunday 6th March 2022, leaving from Leura street near the Commercial and ending with lunch at Madden’s Hotel.

If you have booked to attend the bus tour and are unable to attend on the revised date, you will be provided with a refund. Please advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend. APRIL

ANZAC POPPIES ART STUDY @ REMOTE-SOCIAL-LOCAL (DIGITAL WORKSHOP).

Running from 1st April – 21st April with the option to include finished artwork on display as a part of Camperdown RSL ANZAC Day commemoration. All materials will be supplied in a take-home workshop kit, to be collected from community house between 9am-1pm on Friday 1st April unless otherwise arranged.

‘WATER LILLIES’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion.

Delyce believes that anyone can get creative, no matter how much experience you’ve had, “you can become absorbed into whatever project you are working in and it gives you a break from every day worries of life”

‘FUNGI FOREST IN INK’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion.

Delyce breaks things down and communicates in such a clear and supportive way when teaching, that all levels of experience are catered for.

JULY

‘SUNFLOWER’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion.

Join us for another wonderful creative painting workshop with Delyce England.

Two sessions available. $10 per person. All materials supplied.

The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and has been adopted across the globe as a symbol of solidarity with the beleaguered country. Delyce wishes to honour this message of peace, but this is not a political workshop and interaction with this symbolism is not a requirement of participation.

AUGUST

*Tuesday 9th August – bookings for SEPTEMBER REMOTE SOCIAL LOCAL FLORAL ART STUDY with Delyce opens (scroll to September to see booking link – registrations collected in August so requested kits can be prepared and collected in time).

Pruning Fruit Trees with Carolyn Gemmell $25 @ Bookaar Orchard (address will be provided to registrants).

1-3pm Saturday 20th August bookings open 3rd August

Learn the techniques of setting your young fruit trees in the right path to productivity. We will also look at repairing and reinvigorating older fruit trees. If you have never pruned before or felt confused over contradicting information, now is the chance to set things straight. Includes light refreshments.

Grafting Fruit Trees with Carolyn Gemmell $35 @ Bookaar Orchard (address will be provided to registrants).

1-4pm Sunday 21st August bookings open 3rd August

Learn how to graft your own fruit tree, session will include a talk on food security and preserving rare and heritage cultivars. Everyone will get a one on one session to make their own tree to take home. Includes light refreshments. BYO gardening gloves, water bottle and picnic provisions (if desired). Extra trees will be available on the day for $10 each.

About Carolyn Gemmell: Permaculture Designer and Teacher. Currently living in Ararat, formerly Bushfield, born in Edenhope. Became involved with preserving rare and heritage apples and pears 8 years ago, and the Living Library collection is now over 150 different apples and over 35 different pears and nashi.  Along with partner Phil, she has been developing their Mudlark Permaculture Urban Permaculture Demonstration site in Ararat the past 9 years, featuring an eco renovated 1880s Miners cottage on half an acre, affectionately known as The Rainbow House.She has a longtime passion for vegetable growing, seed saving, poultry, as well as community gardens and community projects, and loves sharing her knowledge and empowering people to grow food with confidence, with a focus on reskilling and relocalisation.

This month Delyce will be teaching us how to create a stunning landscape modelled on one of the many iconic sea vistas in our region, Aireys Inlet.

‘FLORAL STUDY/FINGER PAINTING’ DIGITAL ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England.

Month of September to complete bookings open 9am 9th August.

This art workshop is a part of our online REMOTE SOCIAL LOCAL workshop program. Learn to create a stunning floral art study. Finger painting is not just for kids, but they can join in too!

When you register you will receive a link to the video demonstration we have recorded with Delyce England. The video will be available for the month of September 2022.

‘PAINTING WORKSHOP, HOMAGE FOR REMEBRANCE DAY’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion.

Similar to the ANZAC Day poppy art study, this month the painting we will create is in homage to Remembrance Day. Learn some new techniques about how to paint a silhouette of a human form and a spectacular sunset landscape.

Two sessions available. $10 per person. All materials supplied.

Camperdown RSL is interested in displaying our finished art work at the Camperdown RSL on Remembrance Day, Friday 11th November. If you would like your artwork included please let us know.

NOVEMBER

SAVE THE DATE – Camperdown and District Local History seminar and bus tour: European settlement of the Western District  SAT 12th & SUN 13th November.

The FREE Seminar will be held from 1.30 – 4.40pm on Saturday 12th November 2022 @ Killara Centre, with guest speakers, music and afternoon tea.

The Bus Tour will be held from 9.30am – 2.30pm on Sunday 13th November 2022, leaving from Bath St, by the Theatre Royal, with visits to Meningoort and West Cloven Hills (no entry to homesteads).  Includes lunch @ Elephant Bridge Hotel, Darlington.

‘CREATING FESTIVE CARDS WITH INK AND SANTA GIFT BOTTLE’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion. 

10am-12pm Saturday 19th November  bookings open 9am 21st October.

Join us to have some fun and festive cheer with Delyce England.

Delyce will be teaching us how to use inks and other mixed media to create stunning festive gift cards. Delyce will also teach us how to make some fun Santa inspired gifts using wine bottles.
