Men’s Shed project with St Patrick’s School

St Patrick’s Primary Students are presented with a wooden foot when they start school, the feet are made by the members of the Camperdown Men’s Shed. Students decorate their feet with their own design and the school presents each student with their wooden foot when they graduate from school as a memento of their time at St Patrick’s Primary School. This is a wonderful cross-generational community project and the Men’s Shed are thrilled to be a part of a project that encourages students to create and celebrate memories of their school years.

Supporting community partnerships and outcomes

Another fantastic community initiative the Camperdown Men’s Shed has recently been involved in is the Beyond the Bell ‘Open Book Program’. This program aims to make books freely available for children and families. Open Book outlets will be located at all early childhood venues throughout the Corangamite Shire and are a part of supporting early literacy and development. The Camperdown Men’s Shed have worked in partnership with other Men’s Sheds around the Shire to build the display boxes that will house the books in each outlet.
