28 Apr Op Shop Tour of Ballarat a great success
We had originally planned this tour for March in 2020, postponed due to the pandemic. We have finally held our first, hopefully of many, Op Shop Tours on Wednesday 26th April.
We visited five outstanding Op Shops across Ballarat, coupled with a fantastic lunch at the Blue Bell Hotel in Wendouree.
Leaving Camperdown at 9am sharp, we returned all satisfied with many treasures close to 6.30pm! A huge day, but one full of laughter, fun, friendships new and old.
Attendees on the day were asked to participate in a ‘Bargain Hunt’ style activity, with small teams being gifted $10 each to find a special item that will be later auctioned at a community event we will be holding later in the year. The team whose item raises the most at the auction will win a prize, and all proceeds of the auction will go towards supporting the Camperdown & District Food Bank. Watch this space for more details about the auction event!
We plan to hold at least one more Op Shop tour this year, and more in the future too, along with a number of local ‘Foodie’ tours of food producers and providers in our region.
If you are interested in hearing about these tours when we are open for bookings, please sign up for our newsletter.
The feedback that we have had from those who came along on the tour this week has been outstanding;
A huge thank you to Cobden Coaches and Rod, our driver for the day. It is so wonderful to be able to source local services for these events, and your community spirit and excellence is such a value to our community.
Special thanks to everyone who came along for the tour and made it such a fantastic day!
Another big thanks to the Op Shops who hosted us, Vinnies Alfredton, Salvos Stores Wendouree, Vinnies Wendouree, Uniting Op Shop Wendouree and Salvos Sebastapol.
We are so lucky to have three amazing Op Shops here in Camperdown, not to mention the many across Corangmaite. Be sure to support our local charitable stores as well as those more far afield.
