To ensure you don’t miss out on workshop opportunities, please sign up for our enewsletter and follow us on Facebook.

We will continue to offer a range of both remote-social-local (online) and in-person events. For any of our in-person activities we have the following covid-safe practices in place:

  • Limited places and social distancing
  • Masks no longer mandatory, but free mask available at venue
  • We aim to offer two sessions of each workshop when possible to keep numbers lower at each individual session
  • Reduced workshop time, usually to 2 hours, and use of large venues when possible
  • BYO refreshments, none served on the day
  • Please do not attend if unwell or have had recent close contact with someone who is unwell

‘BIRDS IN FLIGHT’ IN-PERSON ART WORKSHOP with Delyce England held @ Corangamite Arts Pavillion, Camperdown Showgrounds.

LEARN HOW TO CROCHET WITH HEATHER
Starting Thursday 16

2-3pm Thursdays for 4 weeks

This is a new program for people who are either new to crochet or have never tried. Heather will take you through the basics, from the beginning, and help you become more confident to start your own crochet projects.

$2 per class  – bookings essential – yarn provided but BYO crochet needles.

Op Shop Tour of Ballarat – save the date!

Date: Wednesday 26th April
Times: arrive at 9am for 9.10am departure (sharp!), aiming to return to Camperdown between 5.30/6pm
Departing from: Bath street Camperdown (near Theatre Royal, ample parking)

Cost: $30 full fare OR $25 pension/concession fare*

*This cost does not include lunch, refreshments or purchases on the day.

You will need to bring cash for your purchases and lunch.
You can opt in for our ‘Bargain Hunt’ style competition, which will be followed by a community fundraiser auction at a later date.

TRADITIONAL WEAVING WORKSHOP with EMMA STENHOUSE

1-5pm Saturday 12th August

$135 (full) / $100 (pension – subsidised by Camperdown Community House)

Since connecting to culture Emma has been exploring weaving, the traditional weaving of the Ngarrindjeri women, the coil weave. In this sensory workshop, each participant will be guided through creating their own masterpiece. This workshop promotes a safe space for sharing stories, listening to others and learning more about each other.

The full program is conducted over 4 hours and each participant leaves with their own unique weave.

Learn to paint beautiful opal artwork with Delyce.

LINO PRINTING WITH EMMA STENHOUSE

1-4 Saturday 16th September @ Corangamite Arts Pavilion

$95 (FULL) / $70 (PENSION)

Drawing on her knowledge of Indigenous flora and fauna, Emma guides participants through monoprinting and lino printing to create a set of greeting cards inspired by nature. Emma imbues the experience with cultural information and opportunities for shared learnings.The workshop is conducted over 3 hours and each participant leaves with a set of greeting cards.

OCTOBER

CULTURAL SENSORY & MIXED MEDIA with EMMA STENHOUSE

1-5pm Saturday 21st October @ Corangamite Arts Pavilion

$135 (FULL) / $100 (PENSION)

Emma is an experienced, skilled and passionate educator. Her successful immersion program imparts her knowledge of culture, including traditional indigenous creative practices guided by Gunditjmara Elders. Based around nature, her program is conducted as an opportunity to creatively share experiences with one another through a nature collage and in addition, create personal artwork from these collages.

This is a wonderful program that recognises that we are all shaped by our cultural background, which influences how we interpret the world around us, perceive ourselves and relate to other people.

The workshop is conducted over 4 hours and participants create both the collage and acrylic artwork

Spring Fling Community Event

When: 10am-2pm Saturday 28th October

Where: APEX Park Camperdown

Attraction include: Friends of Mount Leura Native Seedling Stall (fundraiser for FOML), Lakes and Craters Band, outdoor games and craft activities and more!

We will be running a Food & Garden Swap (linked to our Swap and Share Stall) and Clothing Swap on the day. Bring along any excess produce, plants or gardening equipment/materials you wish to share with the community, along with up to THREE items of clothing that you are happy to part with, and you can take home anything from thw swaps that others have left to hsare. Please note that no soiled, dirty, torn or unwashed items of clothing will be accepted, bring along only items of clothing you would be happy to wear yourself.

Booking is not essential. BYO picnic. For more information, please contact us.

Local History Weekend

In partnership with Camperdown & District Historical Society.

SEMINAR (free): 1.15 arrival (for 1pm start) – 4.30pm Saturday 11th November @ Killara Centre, 210-212 Manifold Street Camperdown. Keynote speaker: Allan Willingham,  expert architectural historian, music by The Twa Bards and afternoon tea provided.

BUS TOUR ($60PP): 9.45am (for 10am departure SHARP!) – 4.30pm Sunday 12th November

Leaving from Leura Street, Camperdown near Commercial Hotel

Tour leader: Alan Willingham, architectural historian.

All attendees of the bus tour MUST decide on lunch order prior to the event and provide these to Camperdown Community House staff/volunteers when requested. This will enable the Mt Noorat Hotel to prepare our meals and have them ready for us when we arrive and help us keep to ur busy tour schedule.

      Camperdown Community House offers a large range of workshops.
      For more information or to inquire about running a workshop, please call us on 5593 1403.  Thanks to funding from The Circle Effect and Corangamite Shire we will be able to offer the initial workshops for free and/or subsidise the cost of some workshops.

      *We encourage anyone from surrounding districts to register for video access however to be eligible to receive the workshop kits and zoom follow-up sessions you must be a resident of the Corangamite Shire, Victoria, Australia. This is a local initiative to support the community local to Camperdown & environs, and funding support specifies this caveat.  *By registering you agree to terms and conditions of participation as stated below.
